4. Ron Rivera has established his culture

Allowing Ron Rivera to come into his new gig as head coach of the Washington Football Team meant allowing him to have full control. Last year, Washington drafted Dwayne Haskins in the first round and many thought he would be the future of this franchise.

After just one season, it was enough for Rivera, as the new head coach, to go out and get some competition in Kyle Allen. Just a few games into the season, Rivera had seen enough from Haskins and benched him.

Not only did Rivera bench Haskins, but threw him to the vultures. Alex Smith moved into the backup role and Haskins was never going to see the field again, barring multiple injuries to the guys now ahead of him.

Did Washington fans freak out and blame Rivera for making a big mistake? Absolutely not. Rivera was given full trust. He made his decision. Haskins was not the guy for this team, and Rivera made that known.

The team is going to be better off for it, too, as Rivera moves into a draft chock full of talent at the quarterback position. The organization is admitting failure on the Haskins pick and moving on — period.
