Notre Dame Football earned themselves a huge win over the Clemson Tigers.

Going into the 2020 College Football season, we weren’t even sure how the season would play out for anyone because of the  COVID-19 pandemic. Notre Dame Football was placed in the ACC for this season so that they can build themselves as safe of a schedule as possible and have a chance to compete. Well, now we could be talking about them winning the ACC after a big win over the Clemson Tigers.

As everyone knows, Clemson is right there with Alabama as one of the elite programs in the country year after year. They keep ending up with these awesome superstar quarterbacks lately and Trevor Lawrence is the latest. He is certainly going to be the number one pick in the 2021 NFL so you know he is incredible.

Lawrence came down with COVID-19 so he wasn’t able to play. Luckily for Clemson, they have D.J. Uiagalelei who is a great young quarterback himself. He isn’t Lawrence but he certainly can play and keep them in games. He did just that but Notre Dame was able to prevail in the second overtime period with a final score of 47-40. It was a great win for the number four team to upset the number one team.

The rankings are probably going to look a little bit different after this week. Notre Dame is for sure going to move into the top three which will be nice to see for them. As of now, they are in the mix with Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, and Clemson for a chance at a national title. They have a serious chance to win the ACC and then a chance at the College Football Playoff.

In normal years, Notre Dame as an independent needs to run the table to have a chance at the College Football Playoff. This year, they are a real part of the ACC so it will be interesting to see how things shake out for them. There is no doubt that this win over Clemson was huge for their program. They are now 7-0 with four games left on the schedule. If Ian Book, Kyren Williams, and  Javon McKinley amongst others can maintain that level of production, this team could make noise down the stretch.

Hot. The NFC isn't that good of a conference, including the Bears. light

This game was proof, with or without Lawrence, that they belong. They might not win the whole thing but they are ready to take their chance. This was the big game on their schedule and they were able to take care of business so hopefully, they can find a way to end up 11-0.
