Chicago Bears: Top 4 college quarterbacks CHI is positioned for
By Ryan Heckman
2. Mac Jones, Alabama
One of the reasons we could end up seeing five quarterbacks go in the first round is because of this stud right here. Alabama’s Mac Jones has been lighting it up so far this season, and an even more interesting development has happened with his outlook over the last few days.

Now that Trevor Lawrence is out a couple of games, Jones is the odds-on favorite to win this season’s Heisman Trophy. DraftKings currently has him at the top of the list with +125 odds to win.
According to Bleacher Report, Jones’ 210.3 quarterback rating would be the best single season rating in over ten years if it held up. So far, he’s thrown for 16 touchdowns, two picks and nearly 2,200 yards in six games. Alabama’s offense is doing just fine without Tua, as Jones has his Crimson Tide scoring over 47 points per game.
Jones’ draft stock has been picking up steam over the last couple of weeks and he’s looking like a sure fire first-round pick. The fact he’s looked this good and might be the fifth quarterback off the board makes the quarterback class look like one of the best in a few years.
Right now, the Bears could definitely land Jones if they were to finish with a pick between 17-24. But, I don’t think he falls to later in the first. These quarterbacks could go even quicker, should they continue to play as well as they have.
