There is no doubt the Chicago Bears will draft a quarterback in 2021. Let’s check in on the current favorites for where they’ll be drafting.

If you would have looked for something like this just two weeks ago, the Chicago Bears would have been much further away from drafting a potential franchise quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. But, things have changed drastically in just two weeks.

The Bears were once 5-1, but now losers of two straight after dropping a prime time game to the Los Angeles Rams and a home tilt to the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Matt Nagy continues to get questions about this offense and how he plans to adapt, but there are even deeper problems within this roster.

Obviously, Nick Foles has been there and done that. He’s won a Super Bowl and gotten hot at just the right time. Who knows — maybe he does the same this year after a few more weeks with these guys. But, the reality is, neither he nor Mitchell Trubisky are the future of this team.

Trubisky’s contract is up after this season, and he’s already been benched. Foles is on a fairly team-friendly deal that will allow him to be the bridge to Chicago’s future starter. That’s exactly where we’re checking in at this point. Which college standouts could be the Bears’ next passer?

Just as this NFL season has been different, the college season is experiencing plenty of changes daily. But, we’ve been fortunate enough to see many of next year’s top quarterbacks play a few games now.

As it stands, the Bears would be picking in the late teens if the season ended right now. Chicago would have the 18th pick if the draft was tonight. That said, let’s look at some of the best options at the quarterback position which might be available by the time Chicago picks.
