It is time for the Chicago Bears to hit the panic button after losing again.

The Chicago Bears made it seem like they were going to pull off another big comeback/ugly win. They forced overtime after making a little bit of a comeback. That comeback to force overtime was needed because of how abysmal they were yet again in the third quarter. They needed that win to keep pace in the NFC and they blew it. The sky isn’t falling (yet) as far as their playoff chances but with the Green Bay Packers losing, they blew a good opportunity.

The game started off as good as it possibly could. Until the final drive of the first half, the Bears kept the New Orleans Saints at bay and even scored some points. We know that the Bears defense is so good that if their offense gives them just enough, they should win. Well, giving up a touchdown to the Saints in the final seconds of the half really was the turning point of the football game.

In the third quarter, the Bears were had just one of the worst quarters that they have had in the Matt Nagy era. They had some players not able to make plays and some players starting fights with the opponent. It was embarrassing to watch as big fans of the team.

The poor performance of this team all around made it a bit scary that they were able to tie it late and get it to overtime. It felt like another game this season where they were going to squeak out a win despite not deserving it even slightly. People would have for sure talked about them as the worst 6-2 team even if they won.

Well, they did end up losing because their offense was abysmal. They could barely move the football and when Nick Foles did make big passes, nobody was able to hang onto it. The same triumphs keep them in games but the same problems present themselves each game without much happening to fix those said problems.

Now, at 5-3, it is fair to hit the panic button. It doesn’t matter if Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky is under center because this team/offense will stink either way. Matt Nagy can’t call plays at all and there is no help protecting either guy on a consistent basis. This is now their second loss in a row after stringing together a couple of good games. The panic button, as mentioned before, has been smashed.

Hot. The Chicago Bears and their injuries. light

They now have the Tennessee Titans ahead of them in what most would call a must-win game. The offense seems to be in a dark hole forever but there has to hope that they are able to figure out something. It would be awesome to see them somehow acquire another guard or other offensive lineman to help them get better but as we stand after this game, things aren’t looking good.
