Chicago Bears: 3 worthwhile trades to make with New England Patriots
By Ryan Heckman
Trade No. 3
Since the Bears lost Tarik Cohen for the season, they have had zero help next to Montgomery. Cohen obviously wasn’t a prototypical running back, but he offered the pass-catching ability and third down type of mold that Chicago no longer has on the roster.
If they’re serious about adding help to ease the pressure on Montgomery and finally end the Cordarrelle Patterson experiment at running back, look no further than one of the best in the business in James White.
He has been around Super Bowl winning teams and the greatest quarterback/coach combination in NFL history throughout his entire career. Now, the Patriots have nothing to look forward to and White is a household name for what he does best. The Patriots should absolutely sell White, and even more so because his contract is up after this year.
New England is going into a new era of football after this season, likely hanging onto younger core pieces and attempting to go out and build from the ground-up. White no longer has a long-term future here, and especially not if a guy like Cam Newton is playing quarterback.
