A wild card option for the Chicago Bears

The Bears and Indianapolis Colts have been weirdly intertwined over the last few years. Whether it was competing for the services of general manager Chris Ballard, who ended up with the Colts, or the services of Nagy, who obviously landed in Chicago, the two teams have gone head to head for their guys.

So why not add another layer of intrigue to the equation. When the Colts lost out on Nagy, they hired former NFL quarterback Frank Reich who in turn, hired Nick Sirianni as his offensive coordinator.

Sirianni might be another year or two away from getting serious consideration, as he is only entering his third season as an offensive coordinator. Candidly, the Colts offense is not lighting the world on fire, as they are only rushing it for 98 yards per game, though they are passing it for 363 per game.

Nevertheless, he is doing it with a new quarterback in the offense — albeit a veteran like Philip Rivers, and a rookie running back in Jonathan Taylor. If the Colts offense can pick things up and gain some steam, so might Sirianni’s chances of getting a look as a head coach next season.
