The Notre Dame Football team has to be wondering if Trevor Lawrence will play in two weeks.

The Notre Dame Football program is having itself a very good year so far. A lot of people thought college football wouldn’t be played at all but here we are. The Fighting Irish have a record of 5-0 as they are going their season as a full-time member of the ACC. The Clemson Tigers are rolling as they are 6-0. The problem for them is that Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19. He will follow the guidelines that they have and be back soon enough.

Could this be something that helps Notre Dame football? Well, Lawrence is one of the best college quarterbacks we have seen in a very long time and will likely be the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. His not being there would probably give the edge to Notre Dame who has beaten some good teams so far.

Before we get to that big-time matchup, each team has a game in between. Clemson has the 4-2 Boston College Eagles where they are 23.5 point favorites. Meanwhile, the Irish have a 4-2 Georgia Tech team ready to play. Notre Dame is a 20 point favorite in that game as they stand right now. Each of these games is winnable for each organization but they will need to play hard.

With all of that said, it is hard to not just already look ahead to the big matchup the following week. Clemson and Notre Dame promise to be a great matchup but Clemson needs Lawrence back. He is a potential generational talent that wants to go help his team win. The reports all indicate that there is a chance that he is going to be back in time for this game. He certainly won’t be playing against BC this weekend, however.

If Notre Dame is able to beat Clemson without Lawrence, people would still maybe respect them but not as much as if he did play. If Notre Dame were able to defeat Clemson with Lawrence, then we might be talking about the Irish as the best team in the country. Right now, Notre Dame is 4 and Clemson is 1 so anything can happen. There probably hasn’t been a game with as high of stakes as this one so far this college season.

Hot. The Chicago Blackhawks could trade Patrick Kane if they want. light

To be honest, nobody wants any free passes in sports. To be the best you need to beat the best and that kid is the best. He will be in the NFL next season so taking him down now would be so sweet to see. We hope he is back for this game so it can be as meaningful and entertaining as possible.
