9. . SP. Chicago Cubs. Tyler Chatwood. 32. player

The Chicago Cubs really regret the signing of Tyler Chatwood in the first place. Theo Epstein has done a lot of things right in his time as Major League general manager but signing Chatwood is not one of those things. He has been brutal for them basically since he signed over to come to Chicago. He has been the type of guy his whole career who has great stuff but an awful command. If he were ever just able to command his great pitches, he would probably be a borderline all-star pitcher.

Instead, he just flat out can’t pitch well regularly. He had a 5.30 ERA with a 1.661 WHIP in 2020. He missed a lot of time as he only appeared in five total games for the Cubs. He got off to a good start in 2020 which makes his final games played number look tough along with his statistics. His -0.1 WAR tells you that he didn’t have much to contribute to the Cubs this season.

Chatwood’s contract is finally up for 2021 and he is more than likely not coming back. He deserves a chance to pitch a full year with another team but it certainly isn’t going to be the Cubs. It doesn’t feel fair that it is turning out this way for him but it certainly is the way it needs to be.

The Chicago Cubs have been pathetic since winning the World Series. light. Hot

There is no absolute guarantee that any of these guys are gone but there is definitely a chance that each one of them is shipped out. There are some more likely to be gone than others but each one of them has a chance. None of them lived up to their full potential with the Cubs and that is why they are now in this predicament. Hopefully, whether they stay or go, they find success in their careers and get back on track.
