3B. Chicago Cubs. Kris Bryant. 17. player. 9.

The Chicago Cubs don’t only have Schwarber not living up to expectations in 2020. There are a couple of other stars fitting that mold as well but Kris Bryant has been in a funk for a few years now. He had an awful year in 2020 as well. His batting average was a stunning .206 and he only had four home runs. He only played in 34 games but there is no doubt he needs to do better than that. He went into the final series of the season with five RBIs, five.

A big series against the Chicago White Sox got him up to 11 RBIs as he put up six in the series (four came on a Grand Slam). Another team might see that as hope that he is getting healthy and try to acquire him. If you’re a team that needs to try out some third baseman, there should be no shame in going for one year of Bryant to see if it works out.

He hasn’t been the same since winning the MVP and World Series in 2016. He had a pretty good regular season in 2019 but other than that it has been brutal, especially in the playoffs. There were people who thought he would challenge to be the second base player in the league (Mike Trout) but it never came to be. He already had a grievance filed with the Cubs about his service time but he lost. It seems like things are almost done between the two parties. Hopefully, the Cubs can still get something for him before he leaves.
