Chicago Bears: 4 polarizing quarterback trades to consider making
By Ryan Heckman
2. Ryan Fitzpatrick
Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins are a 1-win team looking at an obvious rebuilding year. There were no such playoff expectations going into the 2020 season, but there are beginning to be some rumblings from fans and others regarding rookie first rounder Tua Tagovailoa.
With Ryan Fitzpatrick not exactly getting it done, Miami could turn to the rookie out of Alabama sooner rather than later. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be the craziest idea to see if they’d be willing to give up Fitzpatrick in a trade.
It’s clear that the Bears are done with Trubisky. They have zero plans to re-sign him. Nagy doesn’t appear to have any faith in the kid anymore. Therefore, again, it could be time to trade him away.
Fitzpatrick doesn’t bring you any future hope, but he does bring you a ton of experience and a willingness to throw the ball down field. That’s something missing from this Bears offense, and an aspect Fitzpatrick would absolutely give them if he were to see any playing time.
He played with wideouts like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans while in Tampa Bay, so he knows what it’s like to have a couple of weapons. He will sling the football, and Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney and company would appreciate that.
