2. A long shot for future at QB position

This is quite the timing to throw the name Deshaun Watson out there in a possible trade. Monday afternoon, the Houston Texans announced they had fired Bill O’Brien in a move that most fans would call far too late.

Before O’Brien was fired, suggesting a Watson trade might be funny, but it also might make sense. Now, things are a little different. However, suggesting a Watson trade might not be the craziest idea.

O’Brien mortgaged the Texans’ future and the team is now without a first or second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. In order to build the team back up, they’re going to need to find a way into those early rounds.

Next year’s quarterback class is loaded, and the Texans could look to find their next franchise quarterback if they wanted to start completely fresh.

The Bears would certainly be mortgaging a lot for Watson in this situation. But, it would be a last-ditch effort to make things work for Ryan Pace. If not this season, Pace might be gone soon.

Adding Watson to the fold and giving him the weapons in Chicago would allow the Bears the absolute best chance at winning a Super Bowl anytime soon. I’d imagine having Allen Robinson is the closest thing he’ll have to DeAndre Hopkins for quite some time.
