The San Francisco 49ers were on upset alert by many going into Week 1, and they ended up going down in defeat to the hands of Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. The Niners came into the game thin at receiving options and left the game even thinner after seeing George Kittle get hurt.
Rookie Brandon Aiyuk should make his debut in Week 2, but the team is most likely still going to be without Deebo Samuel. Of course, Jalen Hurd is out for the year and Travis Benjamin opted out. The team is signing veteran Mohamed Sanu, who was recently released by the aforementioned Patriots. But, if the Patriots released him, just how much can he offer a team at this point?
Jimmy Garoppolo could use a true, proven guy like Robinson to help ease the development of Aiyuk and take pressure off of Samuel as he returns from injury.
It was clear, in the Super Bowl, that the Niners simply lacked some of those big-time plays through the air in order to keep up with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Robinson would come in and immediately make a noticeable impact from Day 1.
