2. Kyle Fuller

Let’s start off with a bold prediction: It’s time to start talking about Kyle Fuller as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Fuller may not get the love that top names like Stephon Gilmore and Marshon Lattimore do, but for the Bears, he’s good enough where he can be the best cornerback and make plays when needed.

While all the attention goes to Trubisky, don’t forget to thank Fuller as well, who’s interception halfway through the fourth quarter set the offense and Trubisky up with a chance to score. In his seventh season, Fuller continues to make plays that impact games.

To sum up Fuller’s interception against the Lions yesterday wasn’t just any other interception. It was also one that was a momentum swinger. Before that, the Bears defense looked deflated. However, Fuller intercepting the pass seemed to give the entire unit, as well as the whole team new life. Credit guys like Eddie Jackson as well, who tipped the ball just enough for Fuller to capitalize on the opportunity and intercept the pass.

Up next, Fuller has an opportunity to replicate his performance against a New York Giants team that’s coming into Soldier Field with a young quarterback and an offense that’s still learning. Fuller will be the best cornerback on the field in week two.
