There were multiple reports of veteran Jimmy Graham being one of, if not, the best player in all of camp this year. His energy was up. His effort was through the roof, and his athleticism still shone through.
Chicago also loved what they saw from rookie second rounder Cole Kmet during camp. The 6-foot-6 monster target made several nice plays during practices and scrimmages, and the Bears feel as though their tight end situation is vastly improved from a year ago.
Last year, the Lions defense was middle of the pack versus tight ends. In total, they gave up about 53 yards per game to the position.
The Lions lost two key defenders from a year ago in cornerback Darius Slay and linebacker Devon Kennard. However, they replaced them with rookie first rounder Jeff Okudah and veteran linebacker Jamie Collins, who reunites with Patricia.
With the Bears likely using a lot more 12-personnel in 2020, Kmet and Graham could both see the field at the same time on occasion. This will be especially effective in red zone situations, where either guy could be a threat with their size.
