We’ve got some bold Chicago Bears predictions for Week 1.

We’re only three days from the Chicago Bears opening game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in what will come as a welcome respite from the uncertainty that filled the offseason. However, with that largely behind us, we can set our sights on football and we do so by making some bold predictions about the game on Sunday.

To be clear, there were times this offseason where it felt like the season could seriously be in jeopardy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NFL, though, should be commended on their handling of the virus, which has allowed teams to be as ready as they can be under the circumstances for Week 1.

Beyond the pandemic, there was another uncertainty surrounding the Bears during training camp. Obviously, we’re referring to who would be the starting quarterback. That decision — at least for now — has been made, and the team will roll with Lions killer Mitchell Trubisky to start the season.

Having beaten out the savvy veteran Nick Foles, Trubisky will take the field hoping to prove the doubters wrong and establish himself as a viable quarterback in the league. He will do so with an offense that will have a lot of new faces this season. Gone is Taylor Gabriel, Trey Burton, and Adam Shaheen. They have been replaced with Darnell Mooney, Jimmy Graham, and Cole Kmet. Bold offseason moves deserve bold game predictions and we have a few to kick us off this season.
