1. Offense — Skill Positions

QB: Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles

RB: David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen, Ryan Nall

WR1: Allen Robinson, Cordarrelle Patterson

WR2: Anthony Miller, Javon Wims

WR3: Ted Ginn Jr., Darnell Mooney

Obviously, we have already established that Trubisky will start against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and the quarterback controversy is likely to last throughout the entire year, depending upon your viewpoint.

The most interesting takeaway from this group, though, is with Patterson. All throughout camp, Patterson worked with the running backs. He figured to show up with the backs on the depth chart, but it looks like Nagy will continue to use him in multiple ways.

This also tells us something positive about Montgomery, who suffered a groin strain late in camp. If Patterson is going to technically qualify as a wideout, then Montgomery must be healthy enough to play on Sunday.

On the contrary, Nagy could be playing quiet with the Lions. If Montgomery isn’t going to be 100 percent by game day, or if he’s going to be eased back in, then it will be Patterson and Cohen who could see a bigger workload in the back field.

The bottom line is, Patterson should still be a part of the offense in one way or another. Nagy spoke highly of his versatility all offseason long, and he didn’t spend all of camp with the running backs for nothing.
