1. Pros

With just about any veteran a team could add right now, there will come an argument of experience, and Peterson has plenty of it. You are looking at a guy who has made it to seven Pro Bowls and four First Team All Pro squads.

More from Da Windy City

Peterson also boasts an MVP which he won back in 2012. He is without a doubt one of the league’s most electrifying runners that’s ever touched a football.

He’s also been through quite a bit of adversity.

When folks thought he was done, and the New Orleans Saints dealt him to the Arizona Cardinals, he proved he had more left in the tank. When he signed with the Washington Football Team, once again, people thought he was done. He proved otherwise. Over the last two seasons, Peterson has accumulated just under 2,000 rushing yards — that’s unheard of from a guy in his mid-30’s.

Even at his age, he has a desire to play. He loves the game, which is something you cannot teach. Having that type of attitude, work ethic and experience within the Bears’ locker room would benefit some younger guys, and not even just the running backs.

But, even with that desire, hunger and motivation, age can catch up quickly. Despite some decent production in recent years, if you dive deeper, it doesn’t look as good as it seems.
