. SP . Chicago Cubs. Jose Quintana. 62. player. 9

The Chicago Cubs and Jose Quintana will never have good memories with one another. It was a bad trade for the Cubs from the second they made it all the way until now. They gave up Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease in a trade with the Chicago White Sox to acquire him and both of those guys have developed into studs for them. It wouldn’t have been as bad if Quintana was a star or even above average but he has been mediocre at best.

Right before the team returned for the COVID-19 shortened season, it came out that Jose Quintana would miss a good amount of time because he injured his hand in a dishwashing incident. As ridiculous as that sounds, it is true. He is not back and hasn’t been all that good but a team might still be looking to add a depth Major League arm to help them going into the playoffs.

If Quintana went to a team that was going to the playoffs, he would likely be a number four or five which would take some pressure off him. He could also be the guy who can be a long reliever on a good club as well. They are never going to get the return they gave up for him but a fair deal might return a decent piece. It would be good for both parties if he were to be moved.
