5. Inconsistency around the quarterback

Quarterback is already a concern but inconsistency around the quarterback is something that’s held the Bears back more than most are willing to admit. A franchise quarterback like Patrick Mahomes is able to overcome inconsistency and still lead the team to wins. Neither Mitch Trubisky or Nick Foles are the kinds of players who can overcome major inconsistencies.

Last season was the biggest indicator of this. On offense, the Bears only had one real threat and that was wide receiver Allen Robinson. Everything else about the offense was lackluster. The running game accounted for just 1458 yards and eight touchdowns. The offensive line allowed 45 total sacks and there was little production from tight ends.

All the factors mentioned above are just more reasons that the Bears won just eight games a year ago. In a league like the NFL, nothing ever goes according to plan, meaning the Bears have to be concerned if the offensive line, running game, and playmakers that aren’t named Allen Robinson continue to falter in 2020.

If the above issues aren’t fixed, brace for another long season in Chicago where the Bears will need to rely on the defense once again to continue to carry the team, something that the Bears fanbase is used to more than people are willing to admit.
