Trade No. 3

Lastly, we go back to LaVine. The Nets very well could opt to keep their current core intact while letting their free agents walk. Keeping the important guys around while adding LaVine to the mix would surely give them an edge in terms of competing with teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and those pesky Raptors who tossed them out of this year’s first round.

If the Nets wanted to go all-in and thought LaVine was their missing piece, the Bulls could absolutely ask for two firsts in exchange for his services.

Remember, LaVine’s contract is team-friendly. Because of that, Chicago has the upper hand when talking return worth. The Nets are getting a guy who can give them over 20 points, four rebounds and four assists on any given night.

LaVine is also used to getting the tougher matchup, and in Brooklyn, he wouldn’t have to worry about that. Durant and Irvin would take up most of the defensive worry, and LaVine would be much more free to score.

It would hurt to lose LaVine, but Karnisovas would have a chunk of picks to work with over the next two seasons. And, remember, the Bulls would also have plenty of cap space for the 2021 free agency class that’s going to be loaded.
