The Chicago Blackhawks have been so lucky to have Patrick Kane on their team for so long. He was the first overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft and has been everything they could have ever asked for and more. He has been an elite scorer (one time Art Ross Trophy winner), regular-season MVP (Hart Trophy), a multi-time champion (3x Stanley Cup champion), and playoff MVP (Conn Smythe Trophy). There is nothing left for Kane to do in his career except try to win more stuff that he has already won.

Well, he was incredible again this season. In 70 games before the pause, he had 33 goals and 51 assists for 84 points. He was going to be right there for 100 points once again if the season would have been allowed to finish. He continues to be one of the very best players in the NHL despite being on one of the worst teams in the league.

He had two goals and seven assists for nine points in nine games this playoff season. The crazy thing is that some people will see him being at exactly one point per game as bad. The expectations are that Kane is going to put more points than that on the board. Well, Vegas did a very good job of making it hard for his teammates to help him get the puck in areas where he can cause danger. He didn’t play badly by any means, it was actually clear that he was awesome but his team couldn’t help him out one bit.

Kane, along with the previous three mentioned, put this Chicago Blackhawks team on their back. They weren’t a very good roster that made it to the first round of the playoffs. They defeated a much better Edmonton Oilers team to do it. As mentioned before, the team was mostly filled with dead weight and the four legends carried most of the weight.
