The Chicago Blackhawks would be nothing in 2020 without goaltending. They used Robin Lehner and Corey Crawford this year and they were both stellar. Well, they were both on expiring contracts so they decided to make a decision. They traded Robin Lehner off for assets and kept Corey Crawford. They weren’t even close to the playoffs but the pause and bubble gave them a second chance and Corey Crawford gave them the ability to take advantage of the said chance.

There were a few tough games for Crawford throughout but that is going to happen at times. He has overall been very good for him in both the bubble and regular season. The Oilers play a high octane game that the Hawks matched so Crawford needed to be special. He was and he even gave them a chance against the Vegas Golden Knights. There was even a game that he completely stole to get Chicago one win. They were even in the games they lost because Crawford was so good.

We don’t know that Crawford is one of if not the best goalie in the history of the team but we don’t know if he is going to be back. Whatever he and the team decide, we can sleep at night knowing he was so good for so long. This little run here in 2020 solidified that fact for a lot of the people who don’t like him. He deserves so much credit for the Hawks not getting completely embarrassed in the postseason.
