The Chicago Bulls have moved up in the 2020 NBA Draft, so the players they were targeting may have changed.

Arturas Karnisovas looked very pleased with himself during the post-lottery Zoom press conference, probably because he and the Chicago Bulls had moved up to the fourth overall pick.

The lottery may not be an animat being with thoughts and feelings, but the Bulls moving from seventh up three spots served as a signal for the change in times. With Karnisovas and Marc Eversley in now charge, the future looks a little less awful, and maybe, just maybe, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for this current rebuild.

The only downside to moving up to the fourth is that there is virtually no chance at the top three prospects. James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball, and Anthony Edwards have little to no chance of falling, save for a scenario where someone would trade up, and make a surprise selection of a guy like Deni Avdija.

Landing at the fourth pick means that a slough a players could be selected, a trade down is possible, or the new front office could go all out and swing their pick and a player (say, Otto Porter Jr. or Thaddeus Young) to the Golden State Warriors for their pick (No. 2 overall).

Word around the NBA water cooler is that the Warriors will be back in the playoff hunt with a healthy Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, and might be looking for a contending piece rather than another player to develop.

It will be an interesting story to follow.

However, this lottery mock draft will be straight up with none of that trading nonsense, at least not while the playoffs are afoot.

So now, for the second time, let’s draft!
