The Chicago Blackhawks absolutely have to win game three against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Chicago Blackhawks are down in the series to the Vegas Golden Knights two games to none. The Knights are a far superior team but the Hawks have some top-heavy talent that can make any given game very interesting. They didn’t really do that in game one but it feels like they took a big step in game three. Vegas needed overtime to defeat the Hawks in game two but they did win the game nonetheless. Game three is about as much of a must-win scenario as you can have in a non-elimination game.

If they go down 3-0 in the series, they are in big trouble. Very few teams in sports history have ever come back from a deficit like that. It makes it even harder when you think about how much tougher and more tenacious on the puck the Golden Knights are. They come at you in waves and punish anyone who makes a mistake.

Patrick Kane feels like he is ready to lead the team to a win. He definitely had more help getting the puck on his stick in game two which allowed him to make a few plays. He ended up having three assists in this game and he desperately needed a big game like that on the scoresheet. He seemed to make everyone around him better on the ice and he needs to carry that momentum into game three.

The only thing is that Kane only had one shot on goal in each of the first two games. He definitely needs to use his shot more because a goal from him could go a long way for everyone. He is known for making those around him better but scoring goals himself is also a huge skill he posses. A few more than one shot on goal in game three might be something they would like to see from him.

Winning this game and bringing the series to 2-1 would change the entire complex of the series. The Hawks are going to get last change in the next two so they are going to able to get the matchups they want. There is a good chance that Jonathan Toews gets a healthy dosage of William Karlsson‘s line while Patrick Kane could be mostly free of those guys for a few games. That could be a huge swing as they try to come back in the series.
