Chicago Cubs: 3 trades to help bolster bullpen
By Ryan Heckman
2. Brandon Kintzler, Miami Marlins
Speaking of familiarity, the Cubs are definitely familiar with Brandon Kintzler. Having spent two seasons with the Cubs in 2018 and 2019, Kintzler knows the Cubs organization well.

More importantly, Kintzler knows the clubhouse well. Much of the roster in place during his two years in Chicago is still there, which benefits both Kintzler and the team.
This season with the Miami Marlins, Kintzler has looked very good. Obviously, the Marlins have not played the amount of games every other team has due to their COVID-19 testing results. But, Kintzler has pitched strong when called upon.
Thus far, his ERA is a beautiful 0.00. He has pitched __ innings and faced __ batters. Kintzler has struck out __ while walking only __.
If the Cubs were to bring back Kintzler, he could definitely step into one of a couple roles. They might even have some luck trying him as their closer, which he did for the Minnesota Twins a few seasons back. In his second season with the Cubs, Kintzler’s ERA was a solid 2.68. I’m certain they would love to have him back at this point.
