The Chicago Blackhawks are in the Edmonton bubble getting ready to restart play.

The Chicago Blackhawks are getting ready for their return to play series against the Edmonton Oilers. They have officially made it to the NHL’s hub city of Edmonton so they can get the Stanley Cup Playoffs underway in a safe fashion. They are going to play the St. Louis Blues in an exhibition game on Wednesday night which should be a nice little appetizer for Hawks fans who have been missing hockey for the past few months.

There is also some exhibition action taking place tonight for anyone who is dying to watch some puck of any kind. Over in the Eastern Conference bubble of Toronto, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to play the Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to play the Philadelphia Flyers. Later at night is where things could be a learning moment for the Hawks as the Oilers are going to play the Calgary Flames.

The Oilers and Flames playing against each other have been the best matchup of the 2019-20 season. There is a lot of speed, skill, and animosity in that matchup which makes it incredible to watch. It is going to be interesting to see if these teams are able to play nice because of the fact that there is a global health crisis going on. This will be Chicago’s only chance to scout the Oilers before the games begin for real on Saturday.

The Blackhawks are a team that wasn’t that good in 2019-20. They are lucky that the NHL went with 12 teams from each conference because that is giving us a chance to watch them one more time this season. You never know what happens in the playoffs, especially in a scenario like this where there has been such a long layoff before they begin. It feels like whichever team does a little bit better of a job defending will win the game.

Hot. Getting Corey Crawford back for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. light

After how hard it has been to be a sports fan during the pandemic, it is awesome to know that we are going to be watching our favorite sport again this week. The Blackhawks, and the rest of the NHL, deserve a lot of credit for being able to get to this point despite all of the hurdles they had to overcome. Hopefully, the Hawks can use this week to get ready to go as best as they can while staying safe in the bubble.
