2. MLB Rashad Smith

After Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan, there is a significant dropoff in terms of talent at the middle linebacker position for the Bears. Josh Woods, who was with the team last year is unproven meaning a guy like Rashad Smith has a chance to make some noise.

Smith, who played his college football at Florida Atlantic University, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bears. Over a four-year period in college, Smith would total 302 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks.

From a production standpoint, Smith has proven that he can definitely stuff the stat sheet. However, if he can’t make the Bears roster in 2020, he’s worth keeping on the practice squad as a potential player to create some additional competition in 2021.

Smith may not necessarily be the hottest name in the house but his production shows that he’s got tons of potential but he needs to add to his frame which is currently listed at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds. For him to be effective, he needs to add at least 15 pounds of weight if he’s going to make a name for himself with the Bears.
