Chicago Bears: Three reasons to root for Mitchell Trubisky
2017 Draft
As you read before, the 2017 Draft is forever going to be one that the Bears regret. Not only did Mahomes go after Trubisky but Deshaun Watson went later to the Houston Texans. It was an all-time mistake for the Bears to make and one they are going to have to live with for a very long time. You know it is bad because when the Chiefs extended Mahomes, Trubisky was trending on Twitter. This isn’t going away any time soon.
The Bears also showed in that draft that their scouting and diligence when drafting a quarterback. If they had one of Trubisy or Watson at the helm right now, they would legitimately be a Super Bowl contender as long as their defense was as good as it is.
Now, if Trubisky can come out in 2020 and be awesome, that would certainly take some sting out of the 2017 draft. He is never going to be in the same conversation as the two guys mentioned before but he can make it where he is at least competent enough to win football games. He doesn’t have to be a superstar, he just needs to be average on a team like this.
