Chicago Bears: 3 big concerns entering training camp
By Ryan Heckman
1. Adequate depth at RB?
The run game is a monumental concern for Bears fans, and for good reason. Last year, the Bears ranked 27th in the NFL in rushing at just 91.1 yards per game. Chicago did not have one of their top three running backs average more than 3.7 yards per carry, and that number belongs to David Montgomery.

Behind Montgomery, Tarik Cohen sputtered to a 3.3 yards-per-carry average, which is flat-out unacceptable.
Timeout — go ahead and throw some blame on the offensive line. They deserve it. However, the backs have to be better. It’s on everyone.
The Bears also had Mike Davis for a few games, who even worse at 2.3 yards per carry.
Going into camp, the depth at running back is a huge question mark. I’ve thrown this question out there recently:
What if, God forbid, David Montgomery goes down to injury?
The Bears are in serious trouble. Their season might be done, unless Matt Nagy can completely revolutionize an offense that lacks a true, pro-style running back.
Is the third spot going to belong to Ryan Nall or undrafted rookie Artavis Pierce? Truthfully, it would be best if neither owned that job. The Bears still have time to bring in a veteran like Devonta Freeman, Lamar Miller or Isaiah Crowell to compete for that job — and I think any of those three would win it.
