Middle Tier

Kyler Murray

This is probably the most difficult tier to figure out, because based on his 2019 rookie season, Kyler Murray should be considered a top-tier quarterback. But, one more year (or even half a season) should do the convincing.

Carson Wentz

Based on injuries and injuries alone, Carson Wentz gets tossed into the middle tier for 2020. Now, if he stays healthy all of this season, he’ll take the jump back up there.

Chicago Bears

Derek Carr

One of the guys the Bears fan base was going crazy over this offseason is still a fine quarterback in this league. The Raiders stuck with Derek Carr, for now, and that was the best decision they could have made for their franchise at this point. He’s much better than some give him credit for.

Teddy Bridgewater

The ultimate game manager, Teddy Bridgewater has a lot of Alex Smith in him. He’s smart. He doesn’t turn it over often. But, he lacks that elite factor.

Jimmy Garoppolo

A little harder to figure out because some of the throws he makes are absolutely terrible, Jimmy Garoppolo found himself in the Super Bowl last year and still threw 27 touchdowns last season.

Baker Mayfield

I believe in Baker Mayfield the way Batman believed in Harvey Dent. I genuinely want to believe he’s a good guy (good quarterback), but I just can’t convince myself based on some of his actions. My hope is that he takes the leap in 2020.

Daniel Jones

He was a fumble machine, but Daniel Jones had an otherwise impressive rookie season. He’s not afraid to unleash the football down field, which is something Trubisky has a hard time doing accurately.

Nick Foles

This is 100 percent a statement that Nick Foles will earn the starting job. He’s the better quarterback, period.

Josh Allen

He has some wheels, but Josh Allen was the worst deep passer in the NFL by a mile in 2019. He has plenty of work to do.

Jared Goff

The contract looks gross now, because Jared Goff looked as though he regressed in 2019. Or maybe his game depends heavily on a talent like prime Todd Gurley.
