Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky belongs in this QB tier for 2020
By Ryan Heckman
Upper Tier
Deshaun Watson
Headlining an interesting tier, where several quarterbacks find themselves, is Deshaun Watson. With another excellent season in 2020, he could elevate himself to the elite category. He’s close, but not quite there yet.
Dak Prescott
One guy who has proved me wrong over the last couple of seasons is Dak Prescott. Originally, I didn’t think he was all that good. But, he’s developed into one of the top 10 passers in the NFL, and that can’t be denied.

Matt Ryan
He is Mr. Consistent. Matt Ryan is good for 4,500 passing yards year-in and year-out, it seems. Now, can he get it done in the playoffs? One could argue his postseasons have a huge damper on his legacy.
Matthew Stafford
Overlooked and underrated, Matthew Stafford is another consistent passer who is as tough as they come. The Bears know that first hand.
Ben Roethlisberger
Speaking of tough, Ben Roethlisberger is still one of the better quarterbacks when healthy. He’s towards the end of his career now, but is a dangerous quarterback if he’s on the field.
Cam Newton
If this guy is healthy, the Patriots absolutely stole a top-15 quarterback, and potentially top-10. Cam Newton is a unique quarterback because of how often he runs the ball and looks to pound it into the end zone.
Ryan Tannehill
Who knew Ryan Tannehill would find his name among the upper tier of the NFL? Very few people can honestly answer with, “I did.” Better late than never, though; Tannehill has taken a huge step.
Kirk Cousins
The guy Bears fans love to throw digs at is actually a pretty good NFL quarterback. Kirk Cousins continues to finish in the top half of the league in most major categories.
Philip Rivers
He’s one year away from stepping down to the middle tier, but Philip Rivers is going to try and prove he and the Colts can make a run in 2020.
