The Chicago Blackhawks are a team that loves its alumni. Dave Bolland made it clear that he wants to work for them at this point in his life.

The Chicago Blackhawks had so many great depth players during the 2010s. That is exactly what you need to win multiple Stanley Cups and that they did. They won the Cup in 2010, 2013, and 2015 which made it the greatest stretch in the history of the team. There were stars like Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Duncan Keith but a depth player like Dave Bolland really helped glue the team together.

Dave Bolland scored one of the biggest goals in Chicago Blackhawks history back in 2013. 17 seconds after Bryan Bickell tied the game against the Boston Bruins, Bolland scored what would be the Stanley Cup-winning goal with less than a minute to go. It was one of the best sequences in the history of the team and one of the most memorable in the history of the sport.

Bolland had a really nice career as a depth player for the Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Florida Panthers. He is one of those types of guys that you absolutely need playing in your bottom six in order to win championships. Hawks fans should be forever grateful for the way Bolland played for him.

He went on the Red Line Radio podcast this week and shared something that some Blackhawks fans might find interesting. Of course, he gave some insight about those teams that won the Cup but he shared something about his personal life that he wants to see happen. He wants to work for the Chicago Blackhawks.

He didn’t have any specific role in mind, he just knows he wants to be back in Chicago working for the Blackhawks. He talked about how he loves the city, the fans, and the food which is all things Chicago folks want to hear. He knows he has to wait for COVID-19 to somewhat pass so the Canadian/American borders can but when it does, he really wants to be back.

It would be really cool to see Bolland back in the mix because of all he did for this team. All of those guys during those Glory Days deserve a lot of credit for the way that they played. Hopefully, Bolland’s wishes are able to come true. We would love to have him back.
