Either Quarterback playing at a high level

Last but certainly not least, the all-important showdown between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. When the Bears traded for Nick Foles, most fans signaled it as the end of the Trubisky era in Chicago. When you factor in the money and the 4th round pick spent to get Foles here, we can see why most would assume that.

The former Super Bowl MVP and champion in 2018 has many advantages. His familiarity with the system and coaching staff is certainly a benefit. Having quarterback under head coaches Andy Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs and Doug Pederson with the Philadelphia Eagles.

What was believe to be a walk in the park for Foles to win the job, is now however not the case with recent developments. We have witnessed so far this offseason how much the players (offense specifically) are rallying around Trubisky. The young quarterback has taken the initiative to orchestrate personal workouts with the offense.

He even paired up with QB specialist Jeff Christiansen, who has had his fingerprints on the success of QB’s Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ryan Tannehill, and Kirk Cousins. The way Trubisky has approached this offseason has to be encouraging to Bears fans.

While Foles might have the vote confidence from the coaching staff, Trubisky has the locker room. Significantly many of the offensive players including the new additions.

No matter who comes out as the victor of this competition, The Bears need one of these QB’s to perform at a high level if the team wants to be contenders again. Can’t rely too heavily on the defense, the offense needs to pull some of the weight for the team to have success in 2020.
