Team #3: Los Angeles Clippers

It may disappoint that sect of Chicagoans that hate LA, but the Los Angeles Clippers are another team Bulls fans need to watch. Not only are they one of the best teams in the field, but they have two pillars of the Chicago basketball community to root for.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers is a lifelong Chicagoan who played basketball at Proviso East. Heā€™s always supported the community and been a great example of someone whoā€™s had success in all facets of basketball and life.

Playing point guard for the Clippers is Chicago native Patrick Beverly. Heā€™s a favorite of mine because of his attitude when he plays. The cliche of a ā€œDying breedā€ type of player is worn down, but it applies to the intense, defense-focused style of Beverly.

While he may be a pest to all teams who play against him, Beverly is the kind of guy you want on your team. Iā€™d love to see him come home to end his career, but for now, we can root for him to get a ring.

If you donā€™t feel like following the Chicagoans, at least keep an eye on power forward Montrezl Harrell. Rumors floated around earlier this year that Bulls power forward Lauri Markannen may want out of Chicago, and Harrell could be a solid rotational replacement.

Heā€™s not a flashy player, but heā€™s a free agent after this season and would fit well on the Bulls. Itā€™s not a solution to the teamā€™s bigger problems, but Harrell is a good piece to have on a rebuilding team.

No matter what team you watch when the playoffs start, letā€™s hope the new ā€œSeasonā€ goes smoothly. We should be looking forward to seeing an improved Bulls team when they finally return to the court.
