Chicago Bears: Players who could revive career in 2020
By Usayd Koshul
4. TE Jimmy Graham
It seems like forever ago that veteran tight end Jimmy Graham was one of the NFL’s best tight ends. Now, as he gets ready to turn 34 years old, Graham is looking for one last chance at a Super Bowl ring.
Graham signed a two-year, $16 million dollar contract during free agency. While the Bears could cut ties with him after just one season, it’s clear that Graham is looking to prove that he still has some gas left in the tank, despite approaching his mid-30s.
Graham can revive his career in Chicago for two reasons. First, he’ll be the number one tight end on the roster until rookie Cole Kmet is ready to take over. And second, he’ll be a big target in the middle of the field for whoever the Bears starting quarterback is.
When Graham was with the Green Bay Packers in 2019, he was playing in a scheme that was run-first and not necessarily tight end friendly. Now that he’s in an offense where tight end is one of the main focal points of the entire system, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove that he’s ready to continue being a highly productive player.
