Trade One

The Chicago Bears could use Dalvin Cook. He is one of the best running backs in the NFL and might thrive on a team that needs a running back very bad like the Bears. That is why the Bears giving up David Montgomery and a future fourth-round pick would be completely worth it. It is a decent haul for a running back who is easily replaceable if you are the Vikings.

Montgomery was a third-round pick for the Bears in the 2019 NFL Draft and a lot was placed on his shoulders this past season. The Bears clearly didn’t use him right and he still had an okay season for them. They did expect him to be more impactful but the quarterback, offensive line, and play-calling made it difficult for him. He could use a fresh start already and he would go to Minnesota and be Cook’s replacement.

As far as the fourth-round pick, the Bears don’t hit on a lot of their picks anyway under Ryan Pace. You can also see him moving picks like that because he might not even be here at all after 2020 if the season is a failure. He seems like the kind of GM that would move some draft capital in order to add more talent to try and win now. It somewhat makes sense to try and get the most help for the offense as you can knowing that the defense is as good as it is.
