The final piece of the puzzle for the Chicago Bulls is Andre Drummond

Alright, as I mentioned, the Chicago Bulls need to bring in a better center. I am okay with Wendell Carter, Jr. being a solid backup, but he has not proven enough to be an elite big man in the NBA. If the team were able to lock down one of the other four free agents and pair him with Andre Drummond, the Bulls would be locks for the playoffs in 2021-22. Drummond has a player option for the 2020-2021 season and hopefully, he does not opt-out or he will not be available in 2021.

Drummond was the seventh-best center in player efficiency rating last season. He was also tied for third in usage rate. He also led the league in total rebound rate. In fact, he has led the league in average rebounds per game in four of the last five seasons (including the current season that hopefully is finished soon). Bringing in a guy like Drummond would be a fantastic compliment and he will only be 28 years old during the 2021-22 season.

Drummond has also been able to increase his scoring in the last two years. Despite a career average of 14.5 points per game, Drummond has averaged over 17 points per game in the last two years. His biggest flaw like most big men is his free throw shooting. I think the team can live with his .461 free throw percentage if they land another top free agent to round out the team.

Now that we know the Bulls season is over this year, the team can start focusing on the future. It will be important to bring in a solid coach and fire Jim Boylen. Keeping Boylen would be a huge mistake for a team on the brink of greatness. Hopefully, most, if not all of the free-agent chips fall and the Chicago Bulls and fans do not experience a repeat of 2010.
