The Chicago Bulls could bring back another Chicago native in Anthony Davis

This honestly makes the most sense. If the Chicago Bulls are unable to sway Anthony Davis to come to Chicago in 2020 due to Davis not electing to opt-out of his player option, the front office could still take a swing at him in 2021-22 when Davis becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Davis has a horrible injury history and can never seem to stay healthy. He played in under 60 games the last two seasons. This should not matter in today’s NBA though. The important thing would be Davis staying healthy during the playoffs. Last season, he was third in the NBA in player efficiency rating. He will also only be 28 years old during the 2021-22 season.

The rumors of Davis being linked to the Bulls have been going on for a couple of years now. Even trade talks last season were in play. With Arturas Karnisovas running the basketball operations for the Bulls now, there is plenty of familiarity between him and Davis. Could Karnisovas be the missing link needed for Chicago to finally bring Anthony Davis back home to Chicago?

Signing Davis would be a fantastic move for the Bulls. He would help open up shooting lanes for Zach LaVine and Coby White. Wendell Carter, Jr. would be pushed to the bench and Davis would likely play center for the Bulls opposed to power forward. The team could use a three-way rotation of Davis, Lauri Markkenen and Carter, Jr. with both the power forward and center position.
