. C. Edmonton Oilers. Connor McDavid. 97. player. 148

Connor McDavid is the best player in the National Hockey League. The things that this kid can do with and without the puck are amazing. There are a few players that can almost keep up with his speed without the puck on his stick but what makes McDavid so special is he doesn’t even slow down a little bit when the puck is on his stick. He might be the fastest hockey player who ever lived and he makes defenders look silly on a nightly basis.

Whether the goalie makes the save on a resulting play or not, McDavid has multiple highlight-reel plays every single game. The goal shouldn’t be to stop him because that is impossible. Instead, the goal should be to contain him. What he can do at full speed is like nothing that anybody has ever seen before him. He is on track to be considered one of the greatest hockey players who ever lived.

McDavid had a little bit of any injury this season that cost him a few games. He only played in 64 of Edmonton’s 71 games. He still managed to come in second in league scoring as he had 34 goals and 63 assists for 97 points. That is a 124 point pace over a full 82 game schedule. It is truly remarkable what he is able to do and there isn’t a worse player to go up against in a single playoff series right now. With that said, if the Hawks can somehow slightly contain him, they might have a chance to win the series.
