Dylan Strome. 17. player. 94. . C. Chicago Blackhawks

The center depth that this team is building could be nice. There are also a lot of nice centers available in the draft if they want Dylan Strome to be a winger. The first thing’s first, they need to get this kid signed to an extension so they aren’t forced to trade him. He came to Chicago in a trade for Nick Schmaltz and he was awesome in his first year with the team. He had 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points in 58 games for the Hawks following the trade.

Well, behind Jonathan Toews and ahead of Kirby Dach (for now), it seemed like Strome was set to have a great second season for the Hawks. Well, like his good friend Alex DeBrincat, he had a mediocre year in 2019-20. He certainly wasn’t awful by any means as he had 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points in 58 games. That is a pace of 53 points over an 82 game schedule.

Those totals are nice, especially for Strome as he continues to develop. He is a pass-first player and we know that he and DeBrincat can have great chemistry and be much better. They came through the ranks together playing for the Erie Otters and are now reunited in the NHL. They were okay in 2019-20 but they can be better. Strome playing well in the playoffs would be amazing for the Blackhawks’ chances.
