94. . D. Chicago Blackhawks. Calvin de Haan. 44. player

Calvin de Haan was brought in to be a solid defenseman for Chicago this season. He was a solid defenseman for the New York Islanders for a while before he went to the Carolina Hurricanes. He only played one year there and then was acquired by Chicago. They are really thin at the position, especially now that Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook aren’t what they once were.

de Haan was injured this season which made them even thinner on the blue line. He had one goal and five assists for six points in 29 games. He was also plus-ten which is impressive because the team is so bad in their own end and had a -6 goal differential as a team. It makes you wonder where they would have been in the standings if he played just a little more.

Calvin was injured early into the season and wasn’t able to help them as much as they would have liked. Well, the return to play format should allow him to return to play along with the rest of the team. That could provide a huge boost to the blue line as they try to slow down the stars of Edmonton. Defending is going to make or break the series so the Hawks getting as much help as they can is important
