It would be really nice to have Andrew Shaw back from injury when the playoffs begin. He knows what it takes to compete in games of the highest magnitude and that is why having him back would be so huge. He has shown up big in the past playoff tournaments and things should be no different now as long as he is healthy. It looks like he will have a chance to play when they finally hit the ice again.

Shaw would be a perfect complement to the star forwards as he has been in the past. He has experience scoring big goals, like the time he scored an overtime game-winner in the 2013 Stanley Cup Final. He also is the type of player who can play every position on any line, depending on what specific task is needed from him on any given day.

Shaw didn’t play a whole lot this year because of injury but adding him back would be a nice boost. He had three goals and seven assists for ten points in 26 games played this season. That is a 31 point pace over 82 games which wouldn’t be awful for a player like Shaw. It would be good production for a player of Shaw’s status as a third liner or even a fourth-liner and adding him back in for the playoffs would be an upgrade over a lot of players that had significant playing time this season in his absence.
