Chicago Bears: 4 trade packages to pull the trigger on

Trade No. 4
Some might call this crazy at first glance, but I could see a very real scenario where the Los Angeles Rams do not end up paying wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Look, the fact of the matter is, they are in a very, very tough spot with the salary cap.
That Jared Goff contract may mind up looking like a foolish decision when it’s all said and done (4-years, $134 million with $110 million guaranteed). It’s not just Goff either. They’re still on the hook for part of Todd Gurley‘s contract ($5.5 million). The truth is, this team’s handling of finances simply looks plain bad at this point.
The Rams drafted Van Jefferson out of Florida in this year’s draft, plus they still have Robert Woods. Kupp will likely command a huge contract next offseason, and if the Rams don’t plan on paying him, they may as well get something in return while another team rents him for a season.
The Bears probably wouldn’t choose to pay Kupp as well as Allen Robinson, but having those two together for one season in effort to make a Super Bowl run would be special.
Kupp will also be 27 when the season starts, so this will likely be his one chance to cash in on a huge contract next spring. The Rams aren’t going to give that to him — not when they’re in such a tough spot. If the Bears were able to part with just a fifth-round pick to use Kupp for one season and make a run, I think that’s well-worth it.
