Chicago Bears get disrespected by 3 major outlets

3. Jason La Canfora’s NFL rankings are laughable
CBS NFL insider Jason La Canfora, who has been known to be dead wrong on many occasions, also released team rankings early this week.
In a category you’d expect to find teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets, La Canfora plugs the Bears right in there with a question titling the tier:
"“Is this rock bottom?”"
Is this guy serious? Rock bottom? Does La Canfora realize that 8-8 is far from rock bottom?
Let’s just look at the facts. We’ve already pointed out a few of them and how this roster is already better than it was a year ago. ESPN downplayed the offseason, but the truth of the matter is, it all comes down to two major moves.
First off, as I stated before, the Bears swapped Floyd for Quinn. Second, they improved at quarterback — again, it was a slight improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.
How can La Canfora realistically think this team will finish worse than 8-8 with a better team? It makes zero sense. The defense is set up to be a top-three unit in the NFL like it was last year, and if the offense takes even a minor step forward, that could be the difference between 8-8 and either 9-7 or 10-6.
Let’s say at the worst case scenario, the Bears go 8-8 or 9-7 — I ask you again La Canfora, is that truly rock bottom?
No, rock bottom is taking your team to the AFC Championship Game just a couple of years ago and completely obliterating the top defensive roster in the NFL — hello Jacksonville.
The Los Angeles Rams are closer to rock bottom after going to the Super Bowl just a year and a half ago with a roster that looks far from the same and hardly competitive.
The Chicago Bears are not a rock bottom type of team. That is blasphemy, just like many of the predictions and reports coming from La Canfora over the years. Fire this take into the sun, please.
