3. Jordan’s impact on the game is felt beyond the basketball court, even today

As soon as the Bulls took off, so did the NBA. Jordan’s impact on the game is felt globally as well. While there are scenes in the documentary showing the Bulls in Paris, people in countries such as Brazil and Belgium are shown showing their support for the Bulls.

Since basketball has always been a global game, Jordan’s appearance with the 1992 USA Olympic Team, is likely what helped accelerate the NBA’s expansion. Keep in mind that Jordan was already one of the faces of the NBA at the time and after having won his second straight title, appearing in the Olympics is something that helped put the NBA on the map.

Besides just the basketball court, Jordan’s personal brand, Air Jordan, is seen as a global icon. Wherever one sees the “Jumpman” logo, they automatically associate it with Jordan. In other words, Jordan also had a social and a cultural impact on society, something that’s seen with the NBA continuing to grow.
