Chicago Bears Rumors: 3 trade packages for Russell Wilson
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Package No. 2
As we speak, the Seahawks still need some help on the edge. Head coach Pete Carroll still hasn’t ruled out the possibility of bringing back Jadeveon Clowney, who is yet to find a new home in free agency. The problem with Clowney has been his unwillingness to drop his asking price significantly, and that has hurt him. But, thanks to the Bears, they’d address that problem here.
This second scenario has the Bears keeping Khalil Mack in Chicago, but dealing his counterpart after just one year together. If they have to give up Robert Quinn in a deal to land one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, I think fans could live with it.
This would be one of those deals where you’ll find yourself smirking as a Bears fan. It might be just a seventh rounder, but seeing Pace find a way to get one pick in return in a huge deal is a win. Chicago would get Wilson and a 2021 seventh-round pick from Seattle in exchange for Quinn, a 2021 first-round selection and a 2022 second-round selection.
With drafting Gipson and having him learn from Mack and Quinn in his rookie year, maybe he’ll be ready to take a starting job with Quinn gone. Then again, maybe not. All things considered, I really wouldn’t care. Having Wilson in Chicago would be tremendous.
