9. . 3B/OF. Chicago Cubs. Kris Bryant. 2. player

Out of all the players that the Cubs can move on this list, Kris Bryant might be the easiest and most realistic. His name was already heavily involved in some trade rumors before this thing even started. There are lots of teams who would love to have the service of Bryant on their squad right now. He would go onto basically any team in baseball and make them a better squad just by showing up.

Bryant is a great baseball player who puts up great numbers. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2015, MVP of the National League in 2016,  and has a World Series title under his belt. It has been a good run for Bryant in the MLB and now it is time for him to get paid. The Cubs reportedly already made an offer to him that he turned down, despite whatever he says to the media on the topic. That might have been a mistake in hindsight because he may never see the money that he thought he was going to get because the teams won’t have it to give.

If the Cubs traded Bryant, that would be the end of an era that has a lot of “what ifs”. He was handled poorly when he first broke into the league because the Cubs used the rules to get an extra year of service time control out of him. He filed a  grievance against them and lost so the Cubs were able to hold that extra year of control. Well, as mentioned before, it was possible that they traded him anyway but now they really might be able to with a built-in excuse.
