Chicago Bulls: An early look at 5 free agent big men
By Ryan Heckman
5. Power Forward Anthony Davis, Player Option
Speaking of a dream, how insane would it be if this finally happened? What if Anthony Davis opted out and gave the Bulls a meeting? That’s all Chicago needs. It’s a step in the right direction, and maybe Karnisovas is able to pitch Davis the sales opportunity of a lifetime.
Becoming the face of the Bulls is obviously up there in terms of the no. 1 pitch ideal, but getting to play with a kid like Coby White and potentially Zach LaVine is an intriguing thought. This year, Davis was averaging over 26 points per game and nearly 10 boards, continuing to prove he’s one of the best players in the league.
Davis, of course, is from Chicago. He would be coming home if he decided to opt-out of his deal with the Lakers and sign with the Bulls. Although, the likelihood of that happening is slim. He has yet to see what he can accomplish in a full season next to LeBron James, and I think he’ll want to come back and give it a run once the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
Still, we can’t help it as Bulls fans. If there’s a chance, we’ll hold onto the little thread of hope until it’s officially no longer a possibility. Davis in a Bulls uniform… What a world that would be.
