Honorable Mentions

Duncan Keith

The Chicago Blackhawks still have three of their all-time great players on their roster. Duncan Keith is certainly one of those. He is the greatest defenseman to ever play for the team. There are some people who might not agree with that but the numbers and accomplishments show that he is the guy in terms of the all-time Blackhawks blue line. Keith has won the Conn Smythe Trophy, Norris Trophy twice, and three Stanley Cups. It has been a Hall of Fame-worthy career for Keith.

Jeremy Roenick

Jeremy Roenick isn’t in the Hall of Fame yet but he probably should be for the numbers that he has put up in the National Hockey League. He spent the first eight years of his career. He had 267 goals and 329 assists for 596 points in 524 games. Roenick and the Hawks made it to the Stanley Cup Final in 1992 before they were swept by the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was a great Blackhawks career for Roenick.

Chris Chelios

The Chicago Blackhawks have had many great defensemen play for them. If Chris Chelios stayed with the Hawks, it would have been very hard for Duncan Keith to eclipse him as the best defenseman in the team’s history. Chelios played with the Hawks for parts of nine seasons. In those nine seasons, he won the Norris Trophy twice and had 92 goals and 395 assists for 487 points in 664 games. It was great stuff for Chelios before he went to the hated Detroit Red Wings.

Tony Esposito

Tony Esposito is one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the NHL. He is in the Hall of Fame to go with his three Vezina Trophies, Calder Trophy, and five all-star selections. It was a brilliant career for Esposito that was spent almost entirely with the Blackhawks.
